What is up, folks?
Welcome to my website. To those (super awesome) people who have decided to take the time to not only scroll through the pages of this site and look at some of my work, but also read this chunk of words right here, I first want to say thanks! You rock. I hope it will be worth your time.
A little bit about me as an artist: My name is Casey, and I am a photographer. I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, but I currently reside in Easton, Pennsylvania. I'm published in Photographer's Forum's Best of Photography 2016 as a black and white finalist. I like cooking, I like writing, I lived in Madrid for a semester, and I have a tendency to name inanimate objects that are important to me (the names of my camera, car, and guitar are Angela, Pat, and Rosemary, respectively). I specialize in portrait photography, but I love a good "holy wow, how does this place exist?" kinda landscape. And it took me five-ever to find what it is I want to stand for as an artist, you know, what I want my work to represent; there is just so much in the world worth photographing, and I could NOT figure out how to narrow it down.
But here we are, and here I am with a purpose.
Let's Talk About It...a few of you may know, this has been the title of my blog for years. I had always considered the blog and my work to be separate, but I eventually realized how very untrue that is. “Let’s talk about it,” is the phrase that marks where every image I make begins. It means: this thing here is important, this thing here means something, this thing here isn’t talked about enough, so let’s talk about it. This theme of mine, for lack of a better term, really resonates with me. I think it's important to bring these things we feel are important out into the open. I hope this resonates with you as well, and I hope my work becomes something in which you can find meaning.
